Ogoni Ethnic Nationality to Play Nations Cup

In a bid to export the abundance of talents in Ogoniland to the abroad, a sports philanthropist Anthony Wada says he has concluded plans to hold a football tournament tagged the Ogoni Nations Cup slated for later this year.

Anthony Wada made this known when a delegation of a group known as Ogoni Football Organisation paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Bane, country home of Legendary human right activist Ken Saro Wiwa in Khana local Government area of Rivers State.

Anthony Wada said the tournament which would feature football teams from the six kingdoms in Ogoniland was aimed at discovering football talents abound in Ogoniland.

Anthony Wada also said the tournament would be holding later this year and also be used to promote peace and unity among the youths of Ogoni ethnic nationality.

He said the tournament was open to any football team within the Ogoni land that was willing to participate in the soccer fiesta.

According to Anthony Wada, who is based in the United States of America, the tournament would be open to all Ogoni teams that are ready to participate.

Any kingdom in Ogoniland can produce any number of teams if they are ready to participate in the tournament.

Anthony Wada who is the chief executive officer of Legbo Sports Academy said he is working round the clock to ensure the tournament become a huge success.
