Finidi George Linked to Enyimba FC

Former Super Eagles winger Finidi George could be on his way to two-time African Champion Enyimba FC of Aba ahead of the 2021/22 NPFL season, according to a reliable source.

The former winger is expected to replace Fatai Osho whose contract was not renewed.

Finidi, 50, is a UEFA Licence A graded coach and has been with Real Mallorca U-17 and U-23 sides.

The winger had also applied for the under age national team jobs and routinely ignored.

He told our correspondent some time ago that he was ignored by the footballing authority because of his independent mindedness.

“I don’t accept bullsh*t and that was why I rejected to be Super Eagles captain before the 2000 AFCON after Daniel Amokachie retired”, he said.

Finidi started his career with NPA before joining Sharks FC and then Calabar Rovers before rejoining Sharks from where he moved to Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch league. That was in 1993.

He won the UEFA Champions League two years later and moved to Real Betis in Spain and later to Real Marllorca.

He joined Ipswich in the EPL at the twillight of his career.

He is married to a Spaniard and has two children.
