Eagles Have Landed for AFCON Qualifier

Ahead of tomorrow’s 2022 AFCON qualifier, the Super Eagles have landed in Benin Republic.

The squad took a luxury boat ride from Lagos on a coastal journey and reports show that the team has landed safely in Port Novo, the venue of tomorrow’s showdown.

Some of the players had expressed reservation about the travel arrangement but their fears were allayed after coach Gernot Rohr embarked on the same journey as a test run last week.

The social media have been awash with pictures of the players and officials in lively mood as they boarded the boats with a white captain ahead of the trip.

Some of the players could even afford to crack jokes inside the boats.

A point in the match will guarantee Nigeria’s qualification. Benin have not lost at home since seven years ago.

In the reverse fixture in Uyo, Nigeria won 2-1 despite the visitors drawing the first blood early in the match.
